Maine House member announces for governor
By The Associated Press
Rep. Dawn Hill, D-York

PORTLAND, Maine — State Rep. Dawn Hill, a second-term legislator from York, is entering the 2010 race for governor.

Hill, a Democrat, said she plans to file papers with the Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices in Augusta on Wednesday before heading to Portland for a campaign appearance in Monument Square.

Hill said Maine needs a fresh approach that offers common sense solutions that bring people together and help everyone get ahead.

A lawyer and small business owner, she has described herself as a fiscal moderate and a social progressive.

Democratic Gov. John Baldacci is serving his second consecutive four-year term and cannot seek re-election.

sorry dawn, but i don't care if you are R, D, I or G we don;t need a fiscal moderate, we need fiscal conservative right now

Best of luck on your run for Governor, Dawn. It is good to see some "fresh blood" stepping up....on both sides.

No disrespect Ms. Hill, your resume certainly is impressive, but during your radio interview on Monday when you were asked three times what your plan was for creating jobs, you responded with vague answers & you did not answer the question. The people want specifics on how you will create jobs, not political spin glossy words that don't say anything. Best of luck but please develop a concise plan to create jobs, a plan to cut govt waste & a plan to rescue the taxpayer.

Ralph is correct, now is not the time for fiscal moderation and social progressiveness, these two mantras are why we are in the mess we're in. We need accountability, responsibility & the govt needs to be run like a business.

Maine voters love moonbats...she has a genuine chance.

Your good looks won't get you in the door my dear save your money and step out. Maine needs someone that cares about the people of Maine.

The last thing this State needs is a Governor from New York.. for the Love of God she has no clue of the labors of the blue collar worker. TAX AND SPEND New York style..WWEEEE HHHAAAAAAA Ride this pig into the ground!!!!
